On the Edge - June 2023

This month's topic of "on the edge" produced the usual wonderful variety of interesting interpretations on the subject - and also quite a few multiple entries!

Don - photograph taken ‘on the edge’ of the cliff at Prawle Point which is the most southerly point of the Devon coastline

Don - ‘Life on the Edge’ T-shirt highlighting the programme to help restore thriving populations of some of the UK’s rarest insects living along the South Devon Coast.

Don - ‘On the edge’ at the 6th hole at Alton golf course, 

highlighting the oft given advice of Tim Guilding to ‘never leave it short’!!

....and just to confirm that quotation/instruction from Tim, here is a photo of the trophy that is given to the winner of Tim's golf competition!

Keith - a cautious Violet on the edge of the step, clearly thinking about the next step down!!

and Henry obligingly solved Grandad Grump’s’ (aka Steve!) conundrum over this month's challenge!

However with the extra week's extension to our deadline, Steve also managed to fit in this selection from his trip to Wimbledon on the first day of play:

(Hand woven from English willow by Trinity’s gardeners, the Wild Crown is wildlife friendly, sustainable and recyclable. Studded with succulent-plant ‘jewels’, topped with handwoven ball ‘finials’, and wrapped in ‘ermine’ wool, it will be dismantled and rewilded in Trinity’s gardens after the Coronation)

KIT - May 2023

Today's KIT was a closely fought (and very enjoyable) competition between the following:

Nigel, Ken, Tim, Arthur + Sue H, Gill, Rosie and Emma

It resulted in a final between:

Tim & Rosie and Ken & Emma

The final itself had everything - long rallies, winning shots, a few lucky shots, a long tie break to decide on the eventual winner etc etc.  It was great fun to play in - and that is from someone who ended up on the losing side!

Blossom - March 2023

I thought I would share a couple of very old blossom related  haiku with you before the photographs:

Having just come back from a trip to RHS Wisley, I can recommend a visit to see, among many other things, their cherry trees in blossom.
