Sound - October 2022

As topics go, "Sound" proved to be a little tricky I think!

However, before showing you the images you all sent in, I thought I would show/remind you of the BSL signs that are used in deaf tennis - one day you might need them!

Just click on this link:

BSL signs used to keep the score in tennis

and for those who like a bit of extra information on things, this is quite interesting:

Lots of creatures talk!

..... but, as promised, here are your photos on the topic of "Sound"

Sue - Sounds of the Forest.

Molly barking at squirrels, my footsteps, birdsong, soft breeze in tree-tops, grumbling of distant traffic, a fellow walker disciplining his dogs, an aeroplane.....but not all at once!

Ken - see if you can work out/recognise this well-known tune!

(and again, for those who like that extra bit of detail, the extra arrangement is for the tin whistle!)

Kate - Hi-Fi shop in Guildford

Don - revisiting the sound of the 1970’s with my precious 4 track tape recorder purchased in 1971 and still in working order!

Don - some sound advice for the grandchildren at Christmas! 🎅

Steve -
Vaughan Williams "Lark Ascending"… therapy for a gloomy autumn morning!

....... and here a a couple more from Steve, taken at Winchester Mill
(you can probably "hear" that loud sound just by looking at the photos!)

.... and here is another one for your imagination!

Keith - Wind, Rain, Thunder & Lightning at Palm Desert, California! Very unusual.

Two from Gaynor - the sound of silence

John - a few "sounds"

Jan

I
.... and what is our November topic?

I thought about introducing it with a poem but didn't have
either the time or the inspiration to come up with anything!

...... time to stop waffling, our chosen topic is:

"nursery rhymes"
