Happy New Year to you all!
It is quite incredible to think that we started this monthly photo "project" back in October 2018. There have been a couple of times when a topic has straddled 2 months and then this one where, with other things happening over the last few months, we have had 3 months.
So finally, here are all our interpretations on the theme of "candles" - topic number 67!
To start us off, here are similar "takes" on the topic from three of you with a long memory for old TV programmes!
Specifically, The Two Ronnies' and their “Fork Andles” sketch!

Rosie - Eden admiring the nativity set at New College
Meanwhile, over in Cambridge, Gaynor sent in these three photographs of Richardson Candles. These are unique to Cambridge and date from the 1950s. The unusual vertical street lamps were inspired by a design of lamp made for the Festival of Britain in 1951:
Also, from Gaynor, these two photographs of Dublin "candles":
Sue - candles!
Ken - December is a month full of poignant dates for me 💕💕
Don - candlelight festival at Fort de St Angelo in Birgu (Malta)
Don - overlooking Valletta harbour at sunset
Don - Christmas Eve church service Houston style!
Keith - all alight for Christmas!
(when Rosemary and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by renewing our Vows we decided to make a donation to Holy Rood's fabric fund and, as the church needed a new advent ring, money we gave purchased the one in the picture!)
Gaynor - meanwhile, back in Ireland at Sandymount, her son & grandson added some lights to the “tree” on the Strand.
(the eagle eyed among you will spot the previously photographed towers in the background!)
..... and to finish the year, here is a one from Steve:
Steve - for my dear Mum who passed away on the 22nd December aged 94
Thanks for finding time in this hectic festive season to send me your photos.
We go back to our usual monthly time frame now as we start 2025.
The topic for January 2025 is:
"the riverside"
So get out there in the open air (perhaps not today though!) and enjoy the challenge!
